That husbands and wives, parents and children live in ordered harmony according to the Word of God

For parents who must raise children alone

For Christian Single Parents

Heavenly Father, You declare that You are the God for the lowly, for the widow and the orphan. Give physical and mental strength and endurance to single parents. Send Your Holy Spirit in special measure that they may receive the peace and patience of Jesus in His Word and Sacraments, so that they would have the means to raise their children devoutly. Put people in their lives to assist them in raising the children You have blessed them with. [ We/I ] ask this on the merits of Jesus, Your only Son. Amen

Heavenly Father, You desire that husband and wife love and honor each other. Sin often destroys and breaks apart what You have joined together. Bless the parents and children of broken homes. Where repentance is needed, work that. Where peace, give it. Where forgiveness and love, pour it out. Grant that even this situation, while not in line with Your will, would be turned out for the good of the children and parents involved. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, help and bless [ name(s) ] who must raise [ his/her/their ] child(ren), [ name(s) ], alone. If it please You, give them the daily bread of a godly spouse. Until then, give them strength and patience, granting Your Word and Your Son’s Holy Sacraments to be [ his/her/their ] constant source of strength. According to Your will, bless [ me/us ] with many opportunities to help and support [him/her/them] in their time of need; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
